File:Supernatural Title.jpg Supernatural is an American paranormal drama television series, filmed in Canada, that debuted on September 13, 2005 on The WB, and is now part of The CW's lineup, where the second season premiered on September 28, 2006, and the third season premiered on October 4, 2007. The fourth season will premiere on September 18, 2008. The show follows brothers Sam Winchester and Dean Winchester, played by Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles respectively, who travel across the country in a black 1967 Chevy Impala investigating and combating paranormal events and other unexplained occurrences, many of them based on American urban legends and folklore as well as classic supernatural creatures such as vampires, werewolves, and ghosts. Creator Eric Kripke cites Neil Gaiman's The Sandman and American Gods as influences on Supernatural, along with American Werewolf in London and Joseph Campbell's The Hero's Journey. On May 15, 2007, Supernatural was officially renewed for a full third season of 22 episodes. Although, because of the WGA strike, only 16 episodes of the third season will air. On March 3, 2008, The CW announced the renewal of the show for a fourth season. It had nothing to do with her acting performance, but rather it was a financial decision. The new season, however, will introduce new female characters, Eric Kripke promises. But who they are has yet to be revealed. Kyle Nin 17:53, 24 June 2008 (UTC) June 23, 2008 Supernatural creator/executive producer Eric Kripke has signed a two-year exclusive deal with Warner Brothers TV. Under terms of the pact, Kripke will continue to executive-produce and run Supernatural, which enters its fourth season this fall. Kripke also will start to develop projects under the deal. There is currently no word if one of the new titles might be a Supernatural spinoff. Kripke has said in the past that he's interested in doing a prequel of sorts that takes place in the Old West and centers on the show's mythology. It's a possibility, unfortunately, that there will be one, since the SAG contract runs out on June 30th and they haven't made a new deal yet. Padalecki assures that Dean will be back, despite his fate at the end of Season 3. Supernatural is expected to return in the fall (in its regular Thursday 9 p.m. ET/PT timeslot). Many fans are suggesting that it might be a place between Hell and Heaven. They base their response on Ruby's comment on Hell, "It's a place with fire everywhere.". What we saw in the last seconds didn't have any fire at all, and the green-brownish background couldn't represent Hell.
